Tritography® is a digital collage art form of two or more digital photographs blended to render "unreal realities". The rational and irrational appear as one gazes at the image long enough for the mind to relax. New spaces and places appear in the depths of each project, much like an optical illusion.
Each tritograph is a collage of more than one digital impression layer and each layer is chosen intentionally for reasons of composition, color, scale, shape, shadow, light, and content. The process derived from surrealist notions of the early 20th century related to photomontage and cut-ups. Influences include the Bauhaus and Russian Constructivisim of the 20's and 30's, and the movements including the Beat Generation of the 40's and 50's. See tritography® influences for more background information.
